Sales Representative
We are actively seeking a passionate, driven Sales Representative to cover a territory that includes Eastern TX, LA, and OK. 

Job Summary: 

The Sales Representative collaborates with internal support teams to understand each client's specific needs with the goal of increasing sales and profitability for the assigned territory.  Our Sales Representatives are professional bringing their personal authenticity and integrity into every conversation with a customer to enable being a trusted, critical resource for their customers.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Grow sales and profitability through with existing customers and generating new sales opportunities by prospecting new customers
  • General management of accounts
    1. Ensure the health of customer relationships
    2. Travel to customers to develop sales, build relationships & service their needs
    3. Manage customer orders & programs
      • Booking of orders
      • Input of orders in our ERP
      • Involvement in order changes & substitutions
      • Claim resolution
    4. Develop, administer & follow up on trialing programs targeted to achieve sales objectives
  • Attend Regional & National training opportunities for the McHutchison organization

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the horticulture industry required 
  • Degree in Plant Science, Horticulture or related field preferred
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • MS Business Central exposure highly desired
  • Demonstrate passion for finding and developing new opportunities
  • Driven by desire to achieve
  • Leverage curiosity and creative thinking to address customer needs 
  • Demonstrates analytical mindset, excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours as required to meet the needs of customers
