Brokers (Main contact)

We have very close relations with several brokers in North America,

Ball Seed, McHutchison, Gloeckner and Vaughan’s. They are our

partners and communication bridge in the industry, giving you the

choice of working with your broker of preference.

Minimum order

The company has established a policy called Minimum Order Fee.

The minimum order is 3,500 cuttings per customer and per week.

If the order is lower, Florexpo will charge $35 fee.

Deadline

Any cancellation or reduction must be received by Tuesday at noon

and additions and new orders must be received on Thursday at 1 pm

CR time. After this time, we cannot apply additions or cancellations.

Availability

The product availability is updated every 20 minutes in order to give

you the most reliable and on-time information. Our system is linked

with our brokers in order to avoid any delays.

Propagation and Licensing

Florexpo offers a collection of products that are protected and open in

the different markets. All patented product needs to pay a royalty with

the URC unless the customer holds a direct license. In this case we do

not charge the royalty.

Protection

Protected varieties are protected by United States Plant Patent

(PP#) United States Plant Patent Applied For (PPAF), Canadian Plant

Breeders’ Rights and Canadian Plant Breeders’ Rights Applied For.

Many of the plants are also protected in other countries as well as

registered with the Canadian Ornamental Plant Foundation

(COPF ®). ™ denotes a trademark and ® denotes a registered

trademark of the respected breeder in the United States of America.

It may also be registered in other countries.

Claims or Florexpo Credit Policy

1. All credits and claims must be directed to the email

claims@florexpo.net

2. All credits received must include a valid Florexpo claim reason

with photographs representing both the detail and magnitude

of the problem. Florexpo will deny any claim with less information

than requested in the claim form.

3. Florexpo will not require photographic data for any claim with a

value under $50, unless it is essential to help find a solution to the

problem reported (not true to type, unusual plant symptoms, etc).

4. All requests for credit (preliminary & final) must be received within

4 weeks (28 days) after the date the customer received the

shipment, unless the credit is for mixed plants or not true type.

5. Florexpo will answer all credit requests in the first two weeks

(15 days) after received; if not answered in this timeline, the credit

will be automatically accepted.

Tags

Most Breeders and/or their representatives require that one label

or tag be included with each plant sold indicating the proper

genus, cultivar name, complete proprietary rights of the plant for

all regions of potential sales (in the USA either “U.S. PPAF” or

U.S Plant Patent #, in Canada either CPBRAF or CPBR#) and also

require that the tag state, “propagation strictly prohibited”.

To simplify the process, tags are available to order with all

URCs, but with some exceptions and do not ship by default.

For most varieties, you may generate your own labels if the

above information is included, or you may purchase labels from

another tag printer/supplier. Some breeders require that we ship

a tag by default. This information is available from your Sales

Representatives, Florexpo Customer Service Representative and in

published pricing documents.

Please see pages 117/118 for a list of varieties/lines that

have a tag mandatory policy.
